MgSlicer is a browser-based beat slicer
designed for the
Make Noise Morphagene.
How it works
-
Load a WAV file — drag & drop
or use the Load button.
-
Detect transients — the app
analyzes the audio and marks beats and transients on
the waveform. Adjust the Threshold,
Sensitivity, and
Min Distance controls to fine-tune
detection.
-
Export — save a 32-bit float WAV
file with embedded cue markers (splice markers) that
the Morphagene reads as splice points.
Copy the exported file to a micro SD card and load it
into your Morphagene — the splice markers will appear as
splice boundaries, ready to be played, scanned, and
manipulated.
⚠️ Important: Sample Rate
The Morphagene requires audio files at
48 kHz. Make sure your computer's audio
output sample rate is set to
48000 Hz before using this application.
The app will reject any WAV file that is not 48 kHz.
On macOS, set this in Audio MIDI Setup. On
Windows, check your sound device properties under
Advanced settings.
✏️ Editing Cue Markers
This tool does not support editing cue markers after
export. If you need to manually edit, reorder, or
fine-tune cue markers in an exported WAV file, use a
dedicated audio editor such as
ocenaudio.
